{"id":45,"date":"2013-12-14T23:06:45","date_gmt":"2013-12-14T23:06:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/inverness-acupuncture.co.uk\/?page_id=45"},"modified":"2025-04-08T12:59:15","modified_gmt":"2025-04-08T12:59:15","slug":"the-acupuncturist","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/inverness-acupuncture.co.uk\/?page_id=45","title":{"rendered":"The Acupuncturist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/inverness-acupuncture.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Maragret-Head-shot.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-132 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/inverness-acupuncture.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Maragret-Head-shot-175x300.jpg\" alt=\"Maragret Head shot\" width=\"175\" height=\"300\"><\/a><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Margaret Miller qualified in Civil Engineering before discovering her interest in acupuncture.&nbsp; She worked in several Developing Countries, managing projects to install basic water supplies and sanitation.&nbsp; During the course of her work, she spent 2 years in Tibet and China, where she encountered traditional oriental medicine.<\/p>\n<p>In 2004, Margaret obtained a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture) after a 3 year course at Westminster University.&nbsp; She went on to study for a further year in China, gaining a post graduate certificate in Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Chinese Medicine from Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine University.<\/p>\n<p>Since graduating, Margaret&nbsp; continues to upgrade her skills in accordance with the British Acupuncture Council&#8217;s Continuing Professional Development requirements.&nbsp; From 2013, she has concentrated on studying acupuncture styles that treat pain from distal points alone.&nbsp; She finds that results from these styles are much faster and longer lasting than those experienced with other approaches.&nbsp; Distal needling has allowed Margaret to build up busy Community Acupuncture clinics in Inverness and Nairn, since treatment can be carried out easily without requiring patients to undress.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Between 2017 to 2020, Margaret completed an apprenticeship in Chinese Herbal Medicine at Cholsey Community Clinic, under the supervision of Frances Turner.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"page-templates\/full-width.php","meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/inverness-acupuncture.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/45"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/inverness-acupuncture.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/inverness-acupuncture.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/inverness-acupuncture.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/inverness-acupuncture.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=45"}],"version-history":[{"count":10,"href":"http:\/\/inverness-acupuncture.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/45\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":711,"href":"http:\/\/inverness-acupuncture.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/45\/revisions\/711"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/inverness-acupuncture.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=45"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
