What Acupuncture Can Treat

Acupuncture is an amazing ancient treatment which can be used very successfully to treat a wide variety of disorders.  Painful conditions usually respond very well to acupuncture.  Moreover, systemic problems such as anxiety, insomnia, infertility or digestive problems also respond very well.  If the body is out of balance, it is always worth trying acupuncture to get things back into balance.

As I understand it, the insertion of acupuncture needles at strategic points on the body initiates a cascade of responses, which encourage the body to heal itself.  In some situations, such as a badly torn meniscus, the physical damage is too great and adjustments in the surrounding tissue will probably not be sufficient to promote total healing.  In most conditions however,  1-6 appropriate acupuncture treatments will produce a significant improvement.  If the source of the problem is removed, no further treatment may be necessary.  However, if the source, such as poor posture, repetitive strain or stress are not resolved, the problems will probably return.  In this case ongoing acupuncture can be useful to keep symptoms at bay.
